Having lost the services of one of their PPS's yesterday it now seems that Tony Blair's advanced plans to replace the Trident nuclear arsenal with a new generation of weapons are going to cause more New Labour resignations.

Tony Blair's only interest is power. If hypocrisy is the road to that power then he will take it. As I argued here, compared to William Wilberforce, Tony Blair has no belief in British values or that these values can transform the world. He believes instead in George W. Bush's weird new-right civil religion.
