Risen

The "War on Terra" has been ongoing for over five years now and looks set to run and run. At first it seemed, with the invasion of Afghanistan, that the forces of good when making inroads against the evil doers. Now however we find that the forces of al Qaeda have risen, Phoenix-like, from the ashes and are having a surge of their own. Its leadership has regrouped and it has reached out to to other militant groups that are not part of al Qaeda directly. Both al Qaeda and these other organisations are technically capable of major attacks against high profile targets in Western Europe and the United States. Such attacks may already be in the pipeline. The conflict is likely to last for decades and perhaps even generations.
