Gone-zo watch (day 26)

US Attorney General and Bush succubus Antonio Gonzales has somehow made it to the weekend still employed; perhaps just a small matter for some but a major achievement for this Bush hanger-on. Yesterday it came to light that an aide to Sr. Gonzales might have been less than forthcoming when he testified, under oath, that there was not a list of replacements being discussed before the sacking of the US Attorneys. An email from Kyle Sampson, the aide in question, to Harriet Meyers who was the White House lawyer at the time, was released yesterday. This email specifically floats a number of Bush insiders as replacements. Oops. Meanwhile "Gone-zo" will probably spend the weekend scouring a variety of dictionaries for a definition of the word "truth" that will be in line with his sworn testimony when he gives it.

Elsewhere no less a publication, and there is indeed no less a publication than the Daily Mail floats the idea that should Steve "I've never really coached a winning team and it doesn't look like I'm going to start now" McClaren get sacked at the England football coach that current Chelsea FC office holder Jose Mourinho would leap at a chance to take the coveted but cursed position. Well I'm sorry to disappoint the Mail but I suggested just this scenario several days ago.

(To be continued...)
