I can remember when I was young the admonitions from American experts that when going to Europe, for those few Americans who did indeed go abroad, that one shouldn't drink the water. The advice generally referred to southern European countries such as Italy, Spain, Greece and sometimes France. It would seem that now one of the most popular European destinations for Yanks, Ireland (who amongst us doesn't have some Irish blood, eh?), is the is the country without safe water. Galway, one of the wettest cities in Europe and a truly lovely place indeed, has not had potable water for over a month and may not until June or July.
