The synagogue of the ultra-orthodox, anti-Zionist Jewish group, Neturei Karta, and the residence of its rabbi burned down in suburban New York yesterday under suspicious circumstances. Representatives of the group had recently attended a conference in Tehran that debated the reality of the Jewish holocaust. The group does not recognise the state of Israel and believes that a sovereign Jewish state violates Jewish law.
