A World Bank study says that Palestinian industry will die out if Israel does not lift draconian restrictions on the movement of people and goods. You would think that World Bank folks would be smarter than that. Can't they see that the end that they predict is exactly the result desired by the Israeli government? They believe, that with sufficient economic and military repression, the combination of the two is important I believe, the Palestinians will eventually agree to whatever demands the Israelis make in terms of land, water, the rights of refugees and democracy.
History suggests that while Israel might prevail in the short that this strategy will fail, probably miserably and certainly violently.
