Let's make a deal

The United States and Australia have brokered a truly bizarre arrangement that would see them agree to a deal to trade refugees with the US getting completely Cuban and Haitian asylum seekers that they have been holding at Guantánamo off of their hands in exchange from other asylum seekers from Sri Lanka and Burma that Australia doesn't like the looks of.

Unfortunately for both sides some folks think that this sounds strangely like trafficking in humans and therefore would be in violation of international law. Well it is potentially bad news for Australia in any case as international laws don't apply to the Americans if they decide that they don't apply to them!
