Liberation theology alive and well!

And in Madrid as well. Three rebel priests, Enrique de Castro, Pepe Díaz and Javier Baeza, celebrated Easter mass yesterday in spite of an order from their Archbishop banning them from doing so. The so-called "red priests" have stated their desire to emulate Jesus's posture as a rebel and target their ministry to those "marginalised form society, such as ex convicts, drug addicts and immigrants". Ironically despite falling attendances in the rest of Spain, the church where the three preach, and which the archbishop plans to give away rather than allow the three to continue to preside there, has a thriving and growing congregation. I guess they must be the wrong kind of Catholics.
