White collar gangsta's paradise

Since 11 September 2001 the US Federal Bureau of Investigation has shifted a huge amount of resource away from its core to duties to anti-terrorism efforts. The result? Criminal investigations by the FBI have dropped significantly. The reduction is about a third of cases as compared to the year 2000. If the FBI had maintained its level of investigation at the 2000 level at least 2,000 more white collar criminals (you know - Republicans) would be in prison today.

It's not as if the prosecutions for terrorism have taken off either, is it?
