Ronald Thwaites QC, who is defending the Metropolitan Police at the Old Bailey against charges of health and safety violations in the death of Jean Charles de Menezes who was shot, whilst unarmed and unwarned, by the police in 2005 has told the court that finding against the Old Bill will hamper the police and possibly prevent them from shooting unarmed, innocent civilians in the future.
Clearly they should just dismiss the charges now without further discussion.
