I did not know this

WARNING: do not read any further if you are drinking anything or not sitting down!

The following is the title of a from the US State Department: "Nuclear Threat, Armed Conflict Reduction Highest U.S. Priority - Solid U.S. record of disarmament achievements outlined"

Did I sleep for six months only to wake up on April Fools Day? Surely they don't expect us to believe this do they?

There's more:

"The United States has been a leader in promoting gradual nuclear disarmament and garnering broad support for international efforts to destroy dangerous stockpiles of small arms and light artillery.

On the nuclear side, the United States long has supported multilateral solutions to the challenges posed by Iranian and North Korean nuclear weapons development. At the same time, U.S. officials have emphasized their commitment to working with international partners to find diplomatic solutions to these twin challenges."

Read the rest. You know if I wasn't so damn terrified that some of them actually believe the complete and utter shite that they put out this would have been the funniest thing I read all week! (I had to check twice to make sure it wasn't from The Onion.)
