It's not as if anyone is counting

A US military raid in Baghdad has killed 49 "criminals" if you believe the Americans but only 13, including women and children, if you believe that Iraqi government. Assuming the Yanks are right we know that the 49 dead people are "criminals" because they are dead and if they weren't dead they wouldn't be "criminals". And, given that they are dead, they won't be able to attempt to retract their deadness and thereby become "non-criminals".
