I must confess that I have had too short stints as a guest there two and three years ago and I never noticed anything untoward. I reckon I wasn't looking in the right place. (Given I was ill inspections of the facilities were not my first priority either.)
Yes - this does show that the NHS is less than perfect although it should be noted that this was one of St. Tony's beloved PFI (Private Finance Initiative) hospitals so one could reasonably expect that this is the fault of private, capitalist enterprise cutting corners to make money or to get the bid or both.
