Not that long ago there were serious calls in Parliament for an enquiry into the run up to and execution of the Iraq war. After fierce lobbying by government whips the measure was defeated.
This past Tuesday President Bush's Republicans took a serious spanking at the hands of American voters. So what is the reaction here in Old Blighty? Well young Tony gets on the phone to his mentor and boss to discuss changes to their policy in Iraq. Once again I am sure that this is just coincidental and that this discussion had been stored away in their respective Crackberries for weeks in advance. Both of the "Dear Leaders" now plan to make submissions to James Baker's Iraq Study Group. As is fitting President Bush will make his statement first, a full day before his junior partner.
