If I had the money I would be Lord Yank of Beckenham by now

I think it is finally time that we officially dub the ongoing and blossoming scandal into Labour party financing and the awarding of peerages "Honourgate"0. It has gone without an official journalistic moniker for far too long and describing it as "cash for peerages" or "cash for honours" lacks snap and a -gate.

Now it appears that the case is soon to be referred to the Crown Prosecution Service for possible charges. Yesterday the chief investigator, John Yates, revealed that the enquiry has uncovered much information that is not yet in the public domain despite significant leaks to the press. Tony Blair is expected to be interviewed by the police, under caution, before the end of January.

Well Tony think of it this way, thanks to Richard "Tricky Dick" Nixon, no modern politician can be considered to have a true legacy unless they are associated with at least one, and preferably more, scandal ending in -gate.

Should the enquiry be wrapped up without any charges being made you can expect to see a run a Lordships in the January sales.
