First thing in the morning the door bell at Number 10 rings. "Who can that be?" the PM wondered. It turns out that it was Old Bill wanting a quiet word. In the end they didn't question him under caution about those gongs awarded to Labour Party financial workers so he would let the little woman go off to work.
Then his party's green credentials, so recently applauded, turned out to be as transparent as the Emperor's new clothes.
He must have been getting testy by this point as he decided to blame the fact that the government is to close around 2,500 Post Offices on the man in the street rather than official heartlessness.
But the coup de grace had to be the decision late in the day to put the interests of BAE ahead of the finding out the truth behind the corrupt dealing that lead to BAE getting a multi-billion pound deal from the Saudis for the EuroFighter.

Tony's bad hair day
I'm sure that Tony Blair wishes that the Xmas break were here already. He didn't have a very good day yesterday. Shall we sum up how it went?
A few more days like that and Gordon is never going to get to be Prime Minister. Shame that.
