Bowing to the master

The British government has twice lost in court over the plight of the Chagos Islanders who were evicted from their homes and transferred to Mauritius in order to make room for the American air base on Diego Garcia. Today they try again in the High Court. The British government had previously accepted the decision and given an order that they were to be allowed to return only to reverse that after 11 September 2001. It is increasingly obvious that the continued court cases are being pursued at the behest of Downing Street's Lord and Master, the United States.

When do we get something out of this deal other than a lucrative career on the rubber chicken circuit for Tony Blair after his retirement?
