Charles "Cully" Stimson has belatedly fallen on his sword and resigned as Deputy Secretary of Defense for Detainee Affairs. You may remember Mr. Stimson as the man who suggested, a few weeks ago, that American corporations should punish big law firms who had the affront to represent any of those guilty evil-doers currently vacationing at the Club Med resort in Guantánamo Bay. He says that he made the decision on his own and was not forced out. After all, given yesterday's releases of the report from the UN on climate change and the US Intelligence Estimate on Iraq, this is clearly not the biggest problem the Busheviks have at the moment.
Good bye Mr. Stimson. I wish you the luck that you deserve.
