Lust in space

Despite what must be an arduous and trying selection and training process, despite what must seem like endless hours of physical and psychological screening people like Lisa Nowak somehow still manage to get into the space programme.

Why am I picking on Ms. Nowak, who flew a space shuttle mission to the International Space Station only this past July? Well she’s just been arrested and bailed in the attempted abduction of a “romantic rival”. She drove nearly 1,000 miles from Texas to Florida to confront the woman and, get this, she wore a nappy during the nine hour drive so that she wouldn’t have to stop for a wee.

Clearly the NRA needs to immediately begin a campaign to ensure that shuttle astronauts are not prohibited from carrying concealed firearms. Without weapons they would be unable to protect themselves should another Ms. Nowak manage to sneak aboard.
