Hell no we won't go!

Rather unsurprisingly the House of Lords has overwhelmingly voted against all proposals to reform the chamber and opted to approve only a plan for an all appointed second chamber. Now this is where I get confused about the British "constitution". At what point and based on what law can the Commons overrule the Lords and do what it wants? I would appreciate any clarification on this as seem to have misplaced my copy of the UK constitution and the one at the library seems to have gone missing.

That would be the Parliament Act 1911, which essentially establishes the Commons as an elected dictatorship.

Me, I see no reason to have an elected Lords; I've not been impressed with the other elected body, and the Lords are the only thing that's kept Airstrip One from becoming a complete NuLabor 1984.

By the way, is this the first time anyone has ever posted a comment on this blog? Do I get a T-shirt or something?
