Normally I would feel quite sympathetic with police who found it necessary to tear gas and baton charge a crowd of lawyers. At least I would if it were your average, run-of-the-mill American lawyer. Somehow I find that I feel the opposite when it is a crowd of Pakistani lawyers in Islamabad who are protesting "The General's" sacking of the country's most senior judge.
