Sitting in limbo

Two US detainees at Guantánamo Bay prison camp who are also legal British residents have been cleared by American authorities of any links with terrorism, after nearly five years, but remain in custody because British authorities have done nothing, and will continue to do nothing, to gain their release. Ahmed Errachidi is a a Moroccan chef who has resided in Britain for almost 18 years, and Ahmed Belbacha is a refugee from Algeria. I guess that the UK government is concerned that if they weren't terrorist sympathisers prior to their time in US custody they certainly are now!

On a related subject it is worth noting that, given the highly touted confessed crimes of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, that Errachidi, suffering from mental illness as a result of his treatment, has also "confessed" to being Osama bin Laden's commanding officer and that a giant snowball was about to engulf the planet at al-Qaeda's behest.
