Conocoleezza's big (Christian) haj

Increasingly irrelevant US Secretary of State Conocoleezza Rice visited one of the birthplaces of Jesus* yesterday. If indeed there was a Jesus of course. Ms. Rice was said to be deeply moved.

Now Ms. Rice will get down to the serious business of ensuring Captain Codpiece's legacy by negotiating a permanent peace between the Jews and the Palestinians. (Just kidding - she's really going shoe shopping in Tel Aviv!)

*The site of Ms. Rice's visit was Bethlehem which is noted only by Luke as the place of Jesus's birth, probably as Old Testament prophecies pinpoint Bethlehem as the birthplace of the future Jewish Messiah, whilst both Mark and John have him born in Nazareth and Matthew suggests the same. (He also suggests that Joseph and Mary were not yet married at the time of Jesus's birth.)
