Blame the victim

I suppose that if Charles Krauthammer sat on the jury in a rape trial he would be the one hold out arguing that "she was asking for it". I base that opinion on my reading of his latest and patently absurd column in which he attests that the invasion of Iraq was the right thing to do, was well handled and all would have gone swimmingly if not for those pesky Iraqis. (He does however regret that we did not shoot looters, install a puppet government of exiles beholden to the US or assassinate Moqtada al-Sadr.

These ungrateful people continue to fail to appreciate the gift that the US had wrapped up and presented to them. In a spectacular bit of undisguised racism he asks "are the Arabs intrinsically incapable of democracy".

In drawing his conclusions he asks and answers his own question:

"Is this America's fault?

No."

Thank you Charles. I am grateful to you for removing the burden of the failure of the Iraq experiment from our shoulders.
