We know that climate change, left unabated, will inevitably lead to the mass extinction of planet and animal species. We are probably less aware, at least I was, that climate change will also lead to the extinction of human ethnic groups. African nomadic tribes are almost certain to the first to go but other groups living nomadic lives or dependent on sustenance farming will undoubtedly be affected in a similar fashion in due time.
One can make the argument, based on these facts, that the industrial world's inaction on climate change effectively represents an overt act of ethnic cleansing. Once again we must all face the fact that we will all have blood on our hands.
