A small victory for freedom of speech

The British law lords have held the police violated the rights of antiwar protestors in March 2003 when they prevented coaches carrying 120 protestors from reaching RAF Fairborn. The ruling a Court of Appeals ruling that the protestors rights had not been violated.

Chalk one up for the good guys.

The Gloucestershire constabulary make a statement to the effect that they accept "the judgment, and we will be reviewing our policies accordingly...The force would like to take this opportunity to express its regret for any inconvenience caused to the peaceful protesters who were affected by its actions on March 22 2003."

Have the New York police apologised for their actions at the last Republican convention yet? I thought not.
