Since I can't stand the stench of Bush on all the hard news this morning I thought I would write about something else. With all the furore that was stirred up last year by the story surrounding the young girl from Scotland who fled her mother and her new partner to join her father and sisters in Pakistan I was certain that irrespective of what the resolution of the matter was that it was unlikely to end either happily or in the girl's best interests.
It turns out that I may have been wrong. Her mother has offered to drop her custody claim for twelve year old Misbah (aka Molly) if her former husband will allow her regular access to her daughter. Misbah has previously indicated that she doesn't want to see her Mum but when we were twelve who of us did?

Maybe it will work out.
