Hey Justice Roberts ever heard of public service?

It would take to be a Bush appointee to the Supreme Court of the US to whinge that Federal judge don't make enough money. A salary of 165,000 USD doesn't sound like they're starving, I'm sure there is a fine pension scheme, there's probably even free health care and I'm willing to bet that the other perks are good.

Whatever happened to the concept of public service; that you were doing something for your country and maybe you didn't paid quite as much as you would in the private sector (kind of like soldiers) but that there were other significant if intangible rewards? Perhaps that just doesn't work for rich Republicans.
