This Czech's for you

For those of you in the states who have never had a chance to drink the real Budweiser, i.e. the stuff actually made in the Czech Republic and call Budvar, you may soon have a chance (albeit under a different name).

Anheuser-Busch and Czech brewery Budweiser Budvar have been fighting over the rights to the Budweiser trademark for over a century but that has not stopped the two rivals from signing a marketing deal that will bring Budvar, under the name "Czechvar", to the states for the first time.

I always get a chuckle when I'm in a pub in the West End and see all the young lads posing and drinking American Bud (brewed in the UK) because they think it's cool (or whatever the word is these days) when they could have had the Czech version for exactly the same price. I trust that you will believe me that there is absolutely no comparison between the two.

So get drinking!
