The parliamentary manoeuvre known as the filibuster, which was so often savaged by the Republicans when they held the reins of power in the US Congress, now has a new group of supporters. The Republic Party! They, along with the sole member of the Republican Lite Party, Joe Lieberman, successfully used a procedural move to prevent debate on a non-binding resolution on Iraq. The Republicans have been being lobbied hard by the White House on the issue and got an opportunity to meet with the Decider (TM) last week. To quote Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska:
"Believe me, I felt the love."
See wasn't alone with the great man in the Oval Office by any chance was she?
