Victor's justice (without the victory)

A coroner's inquiry into the death of a British soldier after being bombed by American warplanes has been unable to get from the Ministry of Defence copies of video tapes of the American bombing. The inquiry, taking place in Oxfordshire, had yesterday chided the MOD for delays in producing the evidence. Today they have been told that the MOD will not declassify the footage as the US government will not allow it.

An earlier inquest into the deaths of other British serviceman returned a verdict of "illegal killing" after the US did not allow American soldiers to testify.
