Robert's end?

Is Robert Mugabe's grip on the reins of power in Zimbabwe finally starting to fail? We can only hope so. His loyalists seem increasingly desperate as news reaches us that opposition officials were beaten at or near Harare Airport as they attempted to leave the country for meetings abroad. Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai alleges that Mugabe has ordered a brutal crackdown against the political forces arrayed against him in an effort to restore an unquestioned hold on power. Even Africa's other political leaders, who have reluctantly backed him, seem to be losing faith and it may be that the time for change has finally come. It is unlikely to be non-violent if it does.
