A French TGV will today attempt to set a new world speed record for a train, hopefully breaking a record previously held by a TGV, by getting up to a speed of 354 MPH (540 KPH) on the new line between Paris and Strasbourg.
For anyone who has not yet travelled on one of these magnificent beasts you must take the chance should you get the opportunity. Personally I would think of no other way of crossing La France.
