Just doing their job

For those of you who haven't been in Britain recently I can tell you that fivers are considered rare and valuable items especially in the retail trade. As most folks get their money from cashpoint machines and said cashpoint machines do not issue five pound notes they are exceedingly sought after as change. Because they rarely get recycled back to the banks by the shops, who have to hoard them as change, they don't get replaced and they are generally in a rather pathetic state; ripped, torn and filthy. Now business, backed by the Bank of England, are fighting back by accusing the banks of "putting profits before the public good" but not issuing the notes via holes in the well.

So, what's your point then? This is just invisible yet omnipotent hand of the market at work.
