I didn't see this coming

There is a bill before the Texas House, HB 308, that will allow the legally blind to hunt in the state of Texas. Blind. With a gun. They are to be allowed to use a laser sight if accompanied by someone who is not blind. I am not sure how that helps. I guess their mate is there telling them - "Shit Jim Bob. I said a little to the LEFT!". In the interests of safety, of course, these hunters will also have to "carry proof of being legally blind".

I guess when they accidentally shoot a human instead of a deer or a pheasant they will have a built in defence; "I never saw 'em".

I also have two innocent questions:

1) Are the blind allowed to own guns? If so, why.

2) Is this the most important thing that legislators in Texas have to do?
