The Israeli government has blocked Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Desmond Tutu from going to Gaza to investigate the deaths of nineteen civilians from Israeli shells. The mission was planned on behalf of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
An Israeli government official explained that "the human rights mechanism of the UN was being cynically exploited to advance an anti-Israel agenda" when it should be being cynically exploited to advance a pro-Israeli agenda! In any case the Israeli Defence Force had already investigated the incident and surprisingly found that they were not to blame.

I'm sure that the White House will of course condemn this grevious failure on the part of the UNHRC to agree to do Israel's bidding.
