The magazine Scientific American is generally known as a place to go to look for serious articles on serious subjects. That has not stopped them, however, from publishing, in their "Ask the Experts" column, a response to the often asked but rarely answered question "How do hairs like those on the chest or in the nose know to grow when you trim them?".
