Robert Mugagbe the despotic leader of Zimbabwe and former freedom fighter (I once thought of him highly) has taken further moves to consolidate his grip on power by stripping Trevor Ncube of his citizenship. Ncube is the owner of Zimbabwe's largest private publishers and one of the remaining open critics of Mugagbe's regime. If the move to remove his Zimbabwean nationality is upheld he will be prohibited from majority ownership of any media in the country.
Mugagbe recently asked his ruling ZANU-PF party to extend his term in office but the matter was not approved by the party convention and was instead referred to the central committee for "further discussion".
*Answer: when they find oil.
