Ruth Kelly revisited

As I said the other day I don't really care for Labour minister Ruth Kelly and I would be happy if you were no longer in the government. She has caught a great deal of criticism for her decision to move her son from a state school to a 15K a year private one. Her excuse is that he is dyslexic. Well she had an opportunity, having been education minister, to ensure that state schools made adequate provision for students with special needs including dyslexic. Had she done her job there should be no need to her to take advantage of her financial position, to her son's benefit, in a way that the majority of Britons cannot.

Not it seems that the whole family has failed their son with the news that Ms. Kelly's husband and father of the boy in question, Derek Gadd, is a vice governor at the school from which the young man has been withdrawn.

Well done all around then to the Kelly-Gadds (or is it the Gadd-Kellys).
