Occasionally Murdoch papers surprise you. Today is one of those days as The Sun has managed to get its hands on the cockpit video that the US has so far refused to declassify to allow the coroner's inquest into the death of a British soldier from American air attack can proceed.
In addition to a litany of errors (incorrect or incomplete coordinates, mistaking orange coalition ID panels for rocket launchers etc) the tape gives a sense of the clinical detachment that modern hi-tech warfare brings. There is an almost video game feel to the process.
Now that the tape is out there I wonder if the US will declassify it now or will they still toe the "protect our boys from our allies" line.
The full video (approx. 15 minutes) is to be found here.
