By American standards both of the candidates in the final round of the French Presidential election have personal lives. The Socialist candidate Ségolène Royal, although the mother of four children, is not married to her partner and the father of her children. The Gaullist candidate, Nicholas Sarkozy, is married; sort of. Before the campaign the two of them had a rather public falling out with the news that she was living in New York and had taken a lover. She eventually returned to the fold but now Cecilia Sarkozy seems to have gone missing once again as she hasn't been seen for the past ten days. Perhaps she has returned to le Grand Pomme and is back avec son amoureux. Oh course what would be an unimaginable scandal in America is just accepted with a Gallic shrug in France.
