The Decider (TM) loves his signing statements. He loves them so much he now seems to think that they amount to legislation in and of their own right. His latest gem is the statement attached to a congressional bill that revised some regulations relating to the postal service (the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act). His statement declaring that he holds the authority to open private US mail without a warrant "under emergency conditions" is in apparent contradiction to existing US law and the law to which the statement is attached.
How many days left of this nonsense? Seven hundred and some? That assumes that there isn't a putsch by his supporters to extend his stay.
