I've been thinking about this apparent proposal by the Americans to require British citizens of Pakistani origins to apply for entry visas to the US.
My first thought was why are they discriminating against British citizens of Bangladeshi, Indian, Sri Lankan, Iranian, Iraqi, Saudi Arabian and Egyptian descent? Why are they being excluded from this descendants-of-least-favoured-nations club?
My second thought is that should the US go ahead with the plan the British must retaliate. I think the most appropriate manner would be to require that all American citizens of British or Irish descent (no matter how far back) be required to get entry visas for visits to the UK. As these American are probably the descendants of seditious, traitorous revolutionaries they are obviously genetically disposed to the overthrow of the Monarchy and are resistant to peaceful methods of change. Also they complain if the beer isn't cold enough for them.
