Protecting the troops

Are American troops unnecessarily endangered by being sent to serve in the illegal occupation of Iraq that followed the illegal invasion of Iraq? Apparently not as we continue to send more and more young men and women and "ask" them (make them?) to stay longer and longer.

Are American troops unnecessarily endangered by the continuing inability of the Department of Defence to provide adequate protective equipment and properly armoured vehicles? Apparently not as it still continues. (They will be getting "Crazy" Curt Weldon's legacy - the V-22 Osprey though.)

Are American troops unnecessarily endangered by inadequate medical and psychological care after they finally return home? Apparently not as it continues.

Are American troops unnecessarily endangered by a 66 year old American folk singer? YES! The Army has cancelled the appearance of Joan Baez from a show at Walter Reed Hospital for undefined reasons. Ms. Baez had been invited to play by John Mellencamp (or is Cougar or Cougar-Mellencamp or Mellencamp-Cougar?).
