The former commander of the British SAS General Sir Michael "Cut and Run" Rose (K.C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O, Q.G.M.) has spoken out to say that the British and Americans should "admit defeat" and leave Iraq. The cowardly and freedom-hating Sir Michael is quoted as saying
:"The Iraqi insurgents feel exactly the same way. I understand them. I don't excuse them for some of the terrible things they do, but I do understand why they are resisting the Americans."
On a related note Sir Michael was born in Quetta which was then part of India but which is now part of Pakistan. I assume this means that he will soon require an entry visa, that will undoubtedly now be denied, to visit the US.
Sir Michael's new book
, entitled Washington's War is to be published on 10 May.
Should Sir Michael suddenly disappear after meeting with hooded men driving large American SUVs we should probably not be terribly surprised.
