The Belgian army to the rescue

It is indeed fortunate that Belgium is not a member of the "coalition of the (disappearing) willing". If they were and their army was busy in Iraq making the world safe for democracy would they have been able to spare the two dozen soldiers who are being sent to Limburg to fight of the infestation of oak procession caterpillars. The soldiers will be armed with flame throwers to burn the pests out of the local oak trees and plan to remain in the province as long as it bloody takes.

Plans by opposition parties in Parliament to force a fixed withdrawal date for the twenty four brave young men and women failed after party leaders ran away with their tail between their legs.

Connecticut’s Independent Senator Joe Lieberman is already making plans to visit a marketplace in central Limburg as soon as a sufficiently large armed escort, an insect proof waistcoat and suitable knockoff sunglasses can be arranged. He is already reporting that he sees "signs of progress".
