The Open Government Act which reforms and simplifies America’s Freedom of Information Act was passed out of a Senate committee in April with broad support but has been unable to get a vote in the Senate because of one of those undemocratic anonymous "holds". Well it is anonymous no more as we now know that the culprit is Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz). He says he put the hold on because of strong objections to the bill by the Justice Department. Now if they could only remember what those objections are and whether they we in the meeting when they were discussed.
