My old high school, Unionville Chadds Ford Consolidated, has made it on to a list of schools that prepare students well for university. Unless things have greatly changed out there in southern Chester County the school is probably still affluent and largely white. In my day it could have been called WASPville; there might have been a few Catholics, one or two black families and one Jewish family. The boundaries of the school district seemed to have been carefully laid out so that all of the Hispanics, of which there were many working in the mushroom industry, somehow went to Kennett. So much for ethnic diversity.
