The plot thickens

The British government wants the Russian government to extradite Russian businessman and former KGB agent Andrei Lugovoy to the UK to face charges in the sensational poisoning of former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko last year in London. This is unlikely to occur for two reasons; the Russian constitution bars the extradition of Russian citizens and Lugovoy has now come forward with a litany of counter charges including:
  • MI6 tried to recruit Mr. Lugovoy as an agent
  • MI6 or exiled Russian billionaire Boris Berezovsky were behind the assassination
  • Mr. Litvinenko was an MI6 agent
  • Mr. Berezovsky is an MI6 agent
I am sure that the veracity of all of these claims will be cleared up in any and all of the forthcoming TV movies.
