The British House of Lords has ruled that British human rights law applies to the treatment of, well, human beings by British armed forces. It's a good thing that no American court has been so stupid as to rule in this way. I mean if they did we would have to close the Guantánamo Bay Beach and Leisure Resort and all of those lucky foreigners would have to look elsewhere for a holiday spot. They might even have to go to work!
